FL Road Trip Part 1 (The Outer Banks)

Those of you with Facebook got a sneak peek of our FL Road Trip thanks to Kenzie's page, but here's a more thorough deep dive of our vacation with pictures of everyone!

First up... a couple of days in the Outer Banks!  We got our fill of Duck Donuts and BBQ!  We also re-did all of the National Parks since our first time around we didn't know about the Jr. Ranger Program.  And of course, who doesn't love an aquarium?

Road Trip Ready!

So excited to have Duck Donuts again.  They make them fresh after you order, so they are nice and warm when you get them!  We MIGHT have had them for breakfast every morning we were there, haha.

Our first day, we started off at the aquarium!  We are members of the Children's Museum in Boston, and the NC aquarium is one of the places that offers half price admission with that membership.  For a small aquarium, it was way more than we expected and so beautiful!

Kevin found a friend, haha!

The girls learned about rehabilitating sea turtles!

Kaitlyn had to give her "turtle" an "enema", hahaha

After lunch we headed over to Fort Raleigh (Roanoke's Lost Colony)

The ranger who swore them in grew up in Maine!

Then we headed over to the Wright Brother's National Memorial.

Pictures don't do this hill justice.  It was massive and steep and I'm surprised none of us had a heart attack getting to the top.  Of course, Kenz enjoyed the ride!

Day 2 we explored Cape Hatteras National Sea Shore and had a picnic lunch (in the car since it was raining).  We also had Duck Donuts for breakfast!

The sand blowing across the road was crazy!

Kaitlyn and I went for a walk along the beach before dinner.

Stopped at Duck Donuts for one last "fix" before heading to our next stop...  Savannah!

Unfortunately, we weren't able to visit the Juliette Gordon Low House because their hours are very limited now.  We had dinner at The Pirate House which is one of the coolest restaurants we have been in.  They encourage you to walk around and check everything out!

That's my girl... she ordered shrimp n' grits!

We finished off our evening with a walking ghost tour and the next morning packed everything back in the car and made tracks for FL!!
