Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!

Last weekend, we were able to get a hold of a dozen white eggs, so we were able to keep our egg dying tradition alive.  Eggs- particularly white ones- have been scarce up here or the wicked expensive organic ones.

We had bought beautiful Easter dresses for the girls a few months ago in anticipation of our annual Easter photo shoot with Miss Tracey.  Unfortunately, that was canceled, but I brought the girls out back to get pictures of them in the dresses.  Miss Tracey worked her digital magic and Easter-fied one of the pictures.

Of course, last night the Easter Bunny came!  The chocolate Easter basket below is from Haven's where we get the chocolate lobster dinner from.  Kaitlyn was really impressed that the whole thing is edible.

This morning I made these cinnamon rolls from scratch.  I added Easter sprinkles which was a big hit with Kaitlyn.

Our parish posted Easter Mass online last night, so we were able to watch our priests give Mass this morning.  Sadly, one of our priests is being reassigned to a parish in Toronto, Canada.  He has been deemed essential and cleared for travel, so he will be leaving next week.  It's disappointing that we won't be able to say goodbye in person.  He always had a hug for Kenzie and has even given her the Sacrament of the Sick before a couple of her day surgeries.  We will miss him a lot.

After we watched mass, we hunted for eggs.  Kenzie did awesome!  She pushed her little bucket around the floor and collected the eggs I pointed out to her.  Afterwards she realized there was stuff in the eggs and opened them all.  Praying I don't find petrified chocolate bunnies in some random corner or the bottom of her toy bucket.

When Kenzie was done, Kaitlyn had her turn.

Kaitlyn is showing off the special egg she found.  We picked some things up from a local farm and they were selling these cute hedgehog Easter eggs, so we got each girl one and filled them with special candies.

Easter basket time!  As you can see, our living room is being over taken by equipment for Kenzie- some our own and some on loan from Kenzie's school for her tele-therapies.

Kaitlyn picked out the Puppy Dog Pals book for Kenzie and asked if she could give it to Kenzie for Easter.

The girls got two things to share...  a space shuttle kite and a white chocolate/birthday cake flavored unicorn.

Then Kaitlyn got to explore her basket.

I like to buy little things on our trips that I save for Easter baskets/ Christmas stockings.  I snagged this paper and invisible ink for Kaitlyn at the Spy Museum in DC.

Got these cute peeps s'more kits from Havens.

Kaitlyn saw her M&Ms and was worried Aunt Bev would come for them, haha.

One of our friends is a librarian and recommended this book series for Kaitlyn.  It's about the life of Nicholas Flammel (of Harry Potter/ Sorcerers Stone).

Another of Kaitlyn's favorites this year.  Hopefully it will help keep her occupied.

Frozen was not amused- he made a nest in Kenzie's fort.  She has had a blast playing in the box the last couple of weeks.  We will both be heartbroken when it gets recycled.

It got up to 50 today, so we took advantage of the nice weather and went on a walk.  We're getting hit with a Nor'Easter tomorrow (all rain).

We rented the new Trolls movie and had this cute movie snack below.  We've recently discovered a small family-owned butcher shop and they had this super cute flavored deviled eggs platter.  There were five flavors: Buffalo, Pulled Pork, blue cheese and walnut, Reuben, and Roast Beef with horseradish.  They were amazing!

For dinner, Kevin made a yummy lasagna with garlic bread and salad.  We also got two mini desserts.

Kenzie's batteries are starting to wear out.  This was the best picture I could get of the adorable shirt Kevin found her months ago!
