This past weekend we ditched the flip flops, brought out the long sleeves and went apple picking at Thompson’s Orchard!
I’m looking forward to making applesauce, apple butter, apple streusel muffins, apple bread, apple crisp, apple dumplings, and apple cake… Yummy!!!
This morning Kaitlyn started dance class. She is taking a combination tap/ballet class. The first half of class they spend doing tap and the second half is ballet. She is using the bag Great Grammy gave her for Christmas as a dance bag for her tap and ballet shoes. During tap today Kaitlyn’s teacher, Miss Miranda, taught the girls how to do “shuffle step”. Then they practiced walking and doing the shuffle step. During ballet they learned how to walk on their toes. She came home chanting “tippy toes, tippy toes”. After class was over, I didn’t have to ask if she liked it. She ran right up to me and told me she had fun!
The hardest part was getting her hair into that ballet bun. The YouTube videos made it look so easy!
Saturday we didn’t do much since Kevin had to work. Kaitlyn got to watch a movie at home while I cleaned the house, but the rest of the weekend was nothing but fun!
Sunday we went to our last Sea Dogs game of the season. It was fan appreciation day at Hadlock and the theme was “If You Build It, They Will Come” .

The 2012 Portland Sea Dogs emerging from the cornfield. They are wearing throwback uniforms from 1926 when the team was known as the Portland Eskimos.
Before the game started the players came up into the stands to greet the fans and thank them for their support. Each player got a section of the stands. This is #22, Chris Balcolm-Miller. He is one of our pitchers. 
They lost, but we still had a lot of fun! We are definitely looking forward to next season, but the end of baseball season means it’s almost time for hockey!
Monday we drove down to York. We went to the zoo and amusement park down there.

Kevin also won’t be winning father of the year today. While visiting the alligator Kevin was reading the information sign to Kaitlyn… “he eats small mammals. Kaitlyn, you’re a small mammal”. I now understand why Kaitlyn told Mammy “Daddy goes to jail. He’s dangerous.”

The weekend seemed way to short, but we do have a bunch of fun stuff coming up including apple picking and the corn maze. Fall is upon us!
