Vacation Part 4 (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Resort Day)

Since the secret of our Disney visit was out, we were able to put Kenzie's special sign on her wheelchair!

Disney Day 2 was Magic Kingdom!

The Universe hates me... It's A Small World was one of Kenzie's favorite rides. We rode several times.

Kaitlyn "acted" in the Adventures of Belle attraction and had her picture taken with Belle afterward.

Since Kenzie wasn't able to act, they introduced her to Belle and the room as a "visiting princess".  Belle loved Kenzie's dress, haha.

Afterwards, we had lunch in the castle, at Cinderella's Royal Table.

Kaitlyn picked a sword over a wand, hahaha.

She also chose a dessert off the kids menu instead of the adults, because she wanted to "make her own cupcake"

Kaitlyn and I went on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  The standby wait time was 2 hours!!!  Our awesome Disney Vacation Planner snagged us a Fast Pass and we were on in about 15 minutes!

The girls and the Fairy Godmother!

It's tradition!  The girls get traditional ears monogrammed with their name on their first Disney trip!

My favorite ride is still the Haunted Mansion!!

Rapunzel's Tower

Did I mention our Disney Vacation Planner (Jim Linsky) is amazing?!?!  He got us dinner reservations to Be Our Guest!

The whole experience was amazing!  The decor was breath taking and the food was so good!

It looks like it's snowing out the ballroom "windows"!!

Kaitlyn eating French Onion Soup

Mommy got her much loved escargot!!

We didn't bring Kenzie to meet the Beast... figured that would not go well, haha

So, the food...

I got the the Seafood Bouillabaisse.

Kaitlyn got the Poulet Rouge Chicken

And Kevin got the Filet Mignon

The kid's dessert was really cute...  It came with sauces and a paint brush!

This was the adult dessert.  Everything was edible.  That "stained glass" was sugar paper!  Then that's  an almond macron with lemon jam and raspberries, White Chocolate "Chip" cup with Grey stuff (it's delicious, haha!) and a dark chocolate truffle!

 The Little Mermaid's Castle

Kenzie on the Jungle  Jingle Cruise in her poncho.  It was accessible, so we could roll her right onto the boat!

We braved the drizzle/ rain and stayed for the fireworks!

The next morning we started out at Animal Kingdom.  And, yes, we were one of those crazy families in matching shirts!

Kenzie loved Kilimanjaro Safari.  It was another one we could roll her chair right on!

Kevin photo-bombed us!

We had lunch at Tusker House.  This meeting of the characters did not go any better for Kenzie!

We didn't even try pictures of Kenzie and Timon.

It was a bit chilly, so Kaitlyn and I decided not to use our Fast Passes on the River Rapids.  Instead, Kaitlyn and I headed to Expedition Everest while Kevin and Kenzie watched the Nemo and Friends show.

On our way to the ride, Kaitlyn and I happened into a Disney photographer and decided to surprise Kevin.  Of course, Big Mouth told him we took pictures so it wasn't that big of a surprise.

After we survived Everest, we had to commemorate it!  Kaitlyn was not a fan.  Halfway through the ride she made me promise we wouldn't ride again, haha.  That is not a problem... I'm getting way to old to enjoy those rides.  She did love Space Mountain the day before though!

Over at the Nemo show, Kenzie loved the bubbles!!!

We headed back to the Magic Kingdom for dinner and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!

We rode It's A Small World a couple more times... twice in a row actually!  While we were waiting for the accessible boat, I was talking to the Cast Member about how much Kenzie loved the ride.  When it ended there was no one else in line who needed the accessible boat, so they told us to stay on and go around again!

Right at the end of the video, you can hear Kenzie telling us to "look!"

Magic Bands are awesome and creepy.  The ride told us goodbye!

Waiting for the Holiday Parade to start

Disney Magic made it snow in Florida!

Kaitlyn danced in the street while waiting for the parade to reach us.

After a few long days, we needed some recovery down time so Wednesday was resort day.  We didn't leave Animal Kingdom Lodge at all!

We had breakfast at Boma.  I was proud of Kaitlyn trying some of the African dishes on the buffet.

After breakfast Opa came for a visit!  He and Kaitlyn played ping pong.  After Kaitlyn wore him out, she tried to convince Daddy to play with her by telling Kevin she would "go easy" on him!  Instead she ended up "playing" with a toddler who walked by and was interested in the ball.  It was so cute watching her lightly toss the ball to him while his dad helped him hit the ball with the paddle <3 .="" p="">

We watched the animals from our balcony for a while.

Then had lunch at Sanaa.

Kaitlyn picked the kids' African Shield Dessert so she could "paint" her own sugar cookie.

Kenzie got Pumba's Grub.

After lunch we went to the pool.  It was in the 50s (the pool is heated to 80 degrees though), so my favorite Mainers basically had the pool to themselves.  Kaitlyn loved the water slide!

Then it was back to room for some more animal viewing until dinner,

We had dinner at the resort's signature restaurant, Jiko.

Kaitlyn started with the Jiko salad.

I had the Wild Boar Tenderloin

And Kevin got the North African- spiced Scallops

For our entrees, Kaitlyn chose the Chermoula Chicken

Kevin and I both had the Botswana Seswaa-style Beef Short Rib

For dessert, Kaitlyn went with Pumba's Grub

I got the "Safari Sunset" (too many fancy things to list, haha)

Kevin got the Kilimanjaro (basically Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse and Peppercorn Meringue and some more fancy things)

We took Kaitlyn to the arcade for a few minutes.

She ALWAYS comes in last place when she plays arcade games.  By some miracle, she came in first on this one so documentation was required!

Then we wandered around and explored a bit...

Before heading back to the room, we stopped at the lounge for a couple of drinks to go!  I may be slightly obsessed with the Cosmic drinks...
