Vacation Part 2 (Everglades NP, Pilot House, Key Biscayne NP, Build-A-Bear, the Beach, and Grandma's House)

On our first full day in Miami we went to Everglades National Park with Grandma and Aunt Bev.  Kaitlyn of course went right to work on her Jr. Ranger badge. Once again the touch table was a big hit with Kenzie.

It's kind of hard to spot, but there's a baby gator in this picture!

I love how inquisitive Kenzie looks here!  <3 nbsp="" p="">

Getting sworn in as an Everglades National Park Jr. Ranger!

For dinner, we went to Texas de Brazil with Grandma, Uncle Phil, Aunt Bev, and Loren.  Kenzie discovered an immense love of fried plantains.  The kid went through at least 5 bowls of them by herself!  I'm surprised she didn't turn into a monkey!

The next day, we went to the Pilot House restaurant in Key Largo with Grandma and Aunt Bev.  The girls loved feeding the fish!  They even saw a sting ray!

Then it was off to Biscayne National Park...

Kaitlyn earned  the Jr. Ranger badge at all 3 South Florida parks, so she earned a special patch!

Kenzie loved the walking along the water (and even got to put her feet in!)

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Uncle Bill and Aunt Pam's house.

On Friday morning the girls got to make "bears" at Build-A-Bear.  Kaitlyn picked a dolphin that she named Splash and Kenzie picked a bear which we named "Mush Pie" in honor of the new nickname bestowed on Kenzie by Grandma!

Kenzie really liked watching the stuffing machine!

 Kevin helped Kaitlyn dress Splash.

Grandma and Aunt Bev made a bear for their church Tree.

Then we went to the beach! Kaitlyn and Aunt Bev climbed to the top of the lighthouse before lunch.

Kaitlyn was so excited to play in the water and build a sand castle!  She also brought home about 2 pounds of sand and sea weed (sorry Grandma!!).  Kenzie just loves the water!

It was sad having to say goodbye Saturday morning...
