Kenzie-bug is now 10 months old. She hates sitting up on her own. We have to spend time holding her in the sitting position. She is very close to crawling. And if we stand her up against the coffee table and then gently remove our hands, she will stay standing on her own for a bit. We are still waiting on that first tooth, but it feels like it is just under her gum line.

Funtown
On the last day of school, the students attend a final morning assembly and are then released to go to Funtown. Unfortunately I had to work, but Kevin, Mammy, Kenzie and Kaitlyn went. It looks like Kaitlyn is taking after me in the ride department…
Her first ride was the log flume. Kevin bought the ride photo, because the look of dread as she went down was priceless. Kevin didn’t think she would go back on, but she got off and immediately ran back into line again.

9 Months
Kenzie turned 9 months old this week! She is now almost 28 inches long (which is the 74th percentile) and 15 lbs 10 oz (which is only the 11th percentile). As the doctor says, it looks like all her calories went to her length growth. Since she isn’t putting on weight as quickly as the doctor would like and she is a bit slower developmentally, the doctor ordered some labs for her just to err on the side of caution. The poor thing fought the blood draw and screamed her little lungs out. They still weren’t able to get enough blood for all the tests, so she will have to go for another blood draw.
We are happy to report that this week was Kenzie’s last at physical therapy. Her therapist said it’s very usual for kids with her condition to slip into their head tilt when they are tired because it is habit and comfortable for them. However, she is now able to hold her head up straight and can turn her head and tilt in the other direction without any discomfort or resistance.

Memorial Day
We hope everyone had an enjoyable Memorial Day. We had a nice day, but a busy one…
Kaitlyn and a bunch of the Girl Scouts walked in our town’s parade this morning. I was busy ironing on the last of her petal patches last night. That’s right… no more sewing. Everything is iron on these days!
Waiting for Kaitlyn to go by… Kenzie was fascinated by the lights on the police motorcycles…
The parade ended at the Veterans Home and they had a small ceremony there.
The parade wore Kenzie out. She passed out on our bed before we headed off to our next stop of the day: The Sea Dogs game!
Kevin made a yummy dinner with a small assist from Kaitlyn and I. I put together a salad. Kevin made burgers with grilled mushrooms and steak sauce and red hot dogs. Kaitlyn made star-shaped brownies with icing and sprinkles.

Kaitlyn’s Recital
We aren’t allowed to take photos during the recital, but we got some during dress rehearsal! We were also able to get her dances on video. I will have Kevin download those over the next few weeks. No promises as we sometimes aren’t able to get videos to upload on here, but if we can we will try to put them up later this month.
Here’s Kaitlyn doing this year’s tap dance.
They usually post the professional photos online for viewing and purchase. When we get the details on that we will send out an e-mail on how to view those.
Recital day… She did so good! Hard to believe this is the same little girl who would stand on stage and not move during her daycare and pre-K concerts!
Kaitlyn and one of her teachers… She’s had dance class with Miss Miranda for 3 years now!
Kaitlyn and her recital flowers…
Kaitlyn was so exhausted she fell asleep in the car on the way home. Miss I-Hate-To-Nap/ My-Worst-Nightmare-Is-Boredom also begged to lay down as soon as we got inside. That alone made suffering through doing her hair and make-up worth it!
