Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!

 

Kaitlyn’s birthday festivities started off when she brought cupcakes into daycare on Thursday.  Off course, she also woke me up at 5 AM that morning to tell me she wanted to go to school and eat her flower…

This morning we took Kaitlyn to the Children’s Museum.  She was a little unsure at first, but then she had a blast running around.

Afterwards, we went to Bugaboo Creek for dinner.  Kaitlyn loved the “animals” as usual.  However, she was very upset that the stuffed buffalo wasn’t saying “happy birthday” to her whenever it talked.  She wasn’t sure what to do when the staff came over to sing to her.

The birthday girl is supposed to kiss the moose, but Kaitlyn wouldn’t even touch it…

Afterwards we went home and opened presents.   

For the past month Kaitlyn has been telling me that she wanted a Scooby cake.  So, I spent a couple of hours last night making her wish come true…

My favorite part of the night was when Kaitlyn told me the cake was yummy and she loved her cake.  It made the four hours I spent on it totally worth it!   

Afterwards we went to Mammy’s house to open one last present…

Caribou/ Presque Isle

We recently returned from a short trip to Caribou to visit with Great Grammy and Aunt Cassandra.  While we were there, we also hit up the corn maze and Kaitlyn and Kevin went swimming.

It’s amazing the difference two years makes!  In the first picture Kaitlyn was 10 months old and just starting to stand up on her own…

The  theme of this year’s corn maze was the University of Maine.  It was cut into the shape of the mascot: the black bear.   

Kaitlyn found one of the “school supplies” hidden in the maze…

I know everyone is actually awaiting this year’s big costume reveal, but first I have a couple of pictures of Kaitlyn wearing the bat mask she made at daycare last week.

Since my work BFF decided to up and transfer to Idaho earlier this year we had to find a new place to trick-or-treat this year.  So, we headed over to another coworker’s neighborhood.  Kaitlyn and her costume were a big hit…

Sorry everyone, but this is going to be a (gasp) Kaitlyn-free post!  I thought you all might want to see what your tax dollars went to the other day.  The guys try to get us support people out to the shooting range with them once a year and this year they took pictures!

Alumni Weekend at LSC

We recently headed back to Vermont for Family/ Alumni weekend at Lyndon State.  A lot of things had changed (they’ve added a new residence hall and academic building, moved the basket ball courts, re-did the bookstore, etc), but it was nice to see so much had stayed the same.  It was great to see some friends we haven’t seen in a long time and a lot of fun to revisit some of our favorite restaurants!

And what visit to Vermont would be complete without a trip to see Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory?  You just haven’t lived until you’ve taken the tour with a two year old providing the sound effects…  “moo, moo, moo”… 

The Flavor Graveyard   

Chocowlate Chip Ice Cream.  Of course she refused to eat the chocolate cows.  They made the ice cream “dirty”.  Apparently she is a vanilla only kind of girl…
