Summer Catch-Up

We've been pretty busy this summer and once again I find myself behind on the blog.  So what have we been up to?

We spent some time with the 2018 World Series trophy won by our beloved Red Sox!  Kenzie was the only person they allowed to touch it!

We represented the Miracle Families (families who were patients at a Children's Hospital) by having blizzards at our local Dairy Queen on Miracle Treat Day...

And of course we spent lots of time with Kenzie's best friend, Slugger!  Here Slugger is dressed up for 90s night...

The girls loved Witchcraft and Wizardry night...

Slugger is dressed as the Golden Snitch...

Only Kenzie could fall asleep mid game and mid hot dog...

In the beginning of August, we were back in Boston for a couple of days.  One morning we had a check up with Gastroenterology.  We are happy to report everything is looking good and Kenzie has put on 4 lbs since she started the feeds!  After the appointment, we headed just a couple of miles down the rood and visited the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site.  He is a well known landscape architect.  He had a hand in Acadia National Park, the parks in Boston, Central Park, and a certain place y'all might recognize below...

Here's Kenzie hooked up to her feed for the night!

The next morning, we visited the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow site in Cambridge, MA.

Kenzie taking her Jr. Ranger worksheet very seriously...

Swearing in at Longfellow House

That afternoon we had a very angry Kenzie as anesthesiology wanted an EKG before her Botox and Phenol injections the following morning.

Here's Kenzie in pre-op loving on her Minnie...

Kenzie in post-op. They gave her some medicine to make her remain sleepy so she wouldn't wake up as angry.  Happy to report it worked!  No screaming this go round...

Daddy got her a post-procedure balloon as usual!

She was really happy to get back to the Sea Dogs and get a foul ball!

Kaitlyn got up on the dugout with the world's best usher, Frank, and danced and sang to Sweet Caroline!

Star Wars night at the ballpark!

For my Christmas present last year/ birthday present this year, Kevin bought me tickets to see George Strait!  And we took the girls for their first concert!

Since we had to get their early for parking reasons, we spent the morning at Patriot Place, the outdoor mall adjacent to Gillette Stadium.  We had lunch outdoors at the CBS Sporting Club where we got to listen to the sound checks for the concert.

Kaitlyn's hot dog (off the kids menu!) was pretty impressive!

The cupcake shop had cupcakes designed for the occasion!

Kenzie's a country fan!  Here she is dancing to Blake Shelton!

I have no idea how she possibly was able to fall asleep, but she was down and out for the count near 10:30!

The next morning before heading home we went to New Bedford, so we could check another national park/ jr. ranger badge off our list!

Kenzie really enjoyed playing once she figured out the pegs came out!

Really proud to show off the stuffed whale in the play area of the museum.

The swordfish here was probably one of the best I've ever had!

Kevin had the fish and chips (as did Kaitlyn in the kids size portion)

Climbing through the whale heart...

Swearing in at New Bedford...

And then back home to see Elvis Slugger!
