Portland Winterush

During this week in Portland, there is a winter festival ongoing at all of the city's parks, called Portland Winterush. There is sledding, ski jumps, children's activities, and many many other events going on. The one we looked forward to was the snow and ice sculpture display set up at Lincoln Park, which is right next to the courthouse and police station where Kevin works. Below are some pictures, it was a great time.

Kaitlyn being Kaitlyn

Hey everybody. Sorry we haven't posted in so long, seems like time has been flying and we've been very busy. Hard to believe February is already here. Things are going well, Kaitlyn is smiling a lot more and finding new ways to communicate every day. Her latest thing has been grasping objects, which she is getting really good at it. She has a couple really good friends, Larry the Lion and her panda. She loves them both and actively reaches out to grasp them. Below are a couple videos of Kaitlyn.

2 Month Check-Up

Kaitlyn had her two month check-up at the doctor's last week. She is doing really well. Dr. Foster was amazed at how well she is holding her head up on her own already. She is now 11.6 pounds (70th %) and 23 inches long (72%). She also got two shots, one in each leg. They were nice enough to bring in two nurses, so she got both shots at the same time. She only cried for a few seconds. Then she got to bring a book home for a good check-up. All the kids get one book for each "good" visit until they are 5. This visit we got "Little White Duck". She'll go back at 4 months for another visit.

North Conway

These are a couple videos we took while we were in North Conway at Settlers Green with our new camcorder, that we got for Christmas. Thanks to all who made that possible. We are getting used to taking videos with it and thought taking a couple "sample" videos would help. Look for a video of Kaitlyn in the next couple days.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

This year, Kevin, Kaitlyn, and I spent the new year and Kevin's birthday in North Conway, New Hampshire. It was Kaitlyn's first overnight trip and a little test for our trip too Caribou in early February. She did pretty good!

In the morning,we had a visit from Kevin's Aunt Linda and her friend Marie. After they left, we drove out to North Conway. North Conway has a lot of great outlets and New Hampshire is sales tax free! We had Kevin's birthday dinner at Applebees, then headed back to the hotel to watch some TV. We stayed up just til midnight. Kaitlyn, of course, slept through everything.

The next morning, we headed out to do some shopping. It was freezing, so Kaitlyn was all decked out in her fleece sleeper, hat, mittens, and covered in her Bundle Me. She got a bunch of new outfits from Osh Kosh and Carters. Then the last store we went in had an entire table of clothes with pandas on them! So, of course I had to get some. She even has a panda hat... white with black ears. She looks so cute in it. We'll try to post a picture of her in it soon.

We had lunch at a Chinese buffet and then headed back to Portland. We had a great time and hope to take another trip out soon.

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas so far!

Yesterday, we had enchiladas for Christmas Eve Dinner. Then we opened family presents. We went to Midnight Mass - which Kaitlyn slept through. She woke up once for a feeding around 4:30, then slept til 8:30!

This morning, we had potato pancakes and applesauce for breakfast. Then we opened presents from Santa and looked in our stockings. Tonight, we will be having lasagna for dinner with a candy cane ice cream cake from Coldstone for dessert. Yummy!
