Future Hockey Player

As if her demands to watch hockey (“hockey on!”) and asking about “hockey” and “Crackers” every time she get strapped into her car seat weren’t enough of a clue… It is becoming more  obvious everyday that Kaitlyn will not be figure skating in a few years.  Instead, I’d like to introduce you to  the future of the University of Maine’s Women’s Hockey Team…

Pirates Home Opener

Saturday was the day we have been waiting for…  hockey season has returned!!!  I’m still not sure if Kaitlyn has a crush on goalie Jhonas  Enroth or if she’s just fascinated by the goalie mask.  Either way, she stares him down.  She also won’t wave to any of the new guys until they turn away from her.  Travis Turnbull is still her special friend.  He picked up right where he left off last season, coming over to wave at her during practice.

I swear Kaitlyn wasn’t trying to strangle Kevin.  She was actually dancing at this point.  One of the highlights of the night was watching her shake her butt to Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back”…100_0919

Goughan Farm

The theme of this year’s corn maze was “Lost in Space”.  The main paths of the maze were the planets and their orbits.

The start of the maze.   The yellow flowers represented the sun…100_0859

Apple Picking

Yesterday, we took Kaitlyn to a farm in New Gloucester and went apple picking.  Once Kaitlyn got the hang of it she loved it.  She kept saying “up” so we’d pick her up and she could pull them off the trees.  Once we showed her how to put the apples in the bag, we had to keep an eye on her.  She’d grab any old apple off the ground and try to sneak it in the bag.  It was fun to watch her running up the row of trees yelling “apple” repeatedly…

After picking our apples, we bought some apple cider and homemade donuts.  Then we took a ride on a horse drawn carriage… 100_0826 100_0828

St. Peter’s Italian Street Festival

Yesterday afternoon, we went to a street festival that one of the Catholic Churches downtown puts on every year. We started going 3 Years ago and have gone every year since. 100_0780

This year, Kaitlyn got her first taste of Cannoli… 100_0779100_0774

Then Kaitlyn got her face painted for the first time. It didn’t go quite so well. After she got her nose done, she wasn’t so sure about having a stranger so close to her face. She started pulling away and smearing it.

Right afterwards, not looking so happy….100_0784

After we got her back to the car, and wiped up a little she was a little happier and looked really cute.100_0791
